"Pocono Gets Busch-whacked!"
Ever heard the saying "Lead, Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!"
Kurt Busch led 110 of the first 150 laps, everyone else, either, followed or got the hell out of the way. "It was a matter of having everything fall our way," Busch said. "It was a big momentum run for us, we couldn't be more excited."
Busch took back the lead with 17 to go from Rusty Wallace. In what could be Rusty's last Ntextel Cup race at Pocono, Mark Martin finished third and Carl Edwards fourth.
"Shortly after the halfway point, we had a problem on a pit stop, but the guys got everything worked out and were awesome the rest of the day," said Rusty. "Track position is everything. It was a two-tire stop that got us in the lead and led to our best finish this season."
I mentioned in a pre-race interview yesterday on WGST Radio in Atlanta, that cars would be "wadding them up" all day in the tunnel turn at Pocono Raceway. Boy, was I wrong! Kyle Busch was the only one that really whacked the wall during the race and that was in turn three.
So all the fear of suffering cut tires from the shabby repair job in the tunnel turn, to running aggressive camber set-ups and blowing out tires from having too little air pressure never materialized.
What did happen was a million late race cautions for debris on the track!
So, where did this debris come from? Was there really any debris at all? NBC/TNT hardly showed any shots of debris....oh, wait a minute...I got it..Debris on the track means....

If cars aren't crashing, then NASCAR finds debris.
Watch Indy in two weeks, if one car is dominating towards the end, place your bets, Ladies & Gentlemen...because the flag will fly for debris on the track!
Honestly, the only debris yesterday came out of Bill Weber's mouth.(NBC/TNT race announcer) I wish NBC/TNT would put Alan Bestwick back in the booth with Wally and Benny to call the race. It's very clear that Weber has no idea what he is talking about...that and...."Hey Bill, Jimmy Swaggert just called andhe wants his wardrobe back!"
