24 Will Tie 3 Winning 76th!

Gordon right on No. 3’s tail
Next victory will tie him with Earnhardt, which four-time champion considers an honor.

The Jeff Gordon haters threw garbage at the track after the four-time champion executed an ultimately forgettable bump-and-win move on Matt Kenseth last week.
You’ve got to wonder what they might throw today should Gordon win the Lenox Industrial Tools 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway.
You can bet it won’t be accolades. A victory today would be the 76th of Gordon’s career. Most significantly, it would move him into a tie on the all-time list with Dale Earnhardt, the driver whose famously loyal fans seem to hate Gordon the most.
In talking about getting No. 76, Gordon made it perfectly clear that he is in no way an Earnhardt hater.
On the contrary. He paid major respect to Earnhardt, saying that he, too, considered Earnhardt an icon. read more on Gordon tying Earnhardt Sr.
